Dipentaerythritol is a white, odorless and crystalline powder. It is no poison to animal, no stimulation to skin, no pollution to environment. Purity's melting point is 221-222.5℃. Di-PE is slightly soluble in water, but little soluble in most organic solvent. It can react with organic material and turn into ester. Di-PE usually consists of a little mono-PE and Tri-PE. So its hydroxyl value is between 38 and 40.
Application: Di-PE, as an important fine-chemical intermediate, it is mainly used in coating industry, polyether, alkyd resin and photosensitive resin film. Its low aliphatic ester is used as PVC Plasticizer in hi-temp insulating material. Its high aliphatic ester is used in aviation lubricant.
